is one of the largest research centers in Africa with excellence in the epidemiology and biology of vectors and parasites of malaria
and other vector-borne diseases such as leishmaniasis, filariasis, arboviruses and tick-borne diseases.
  • MRTC - Parasito
    Malaria Research and Training Center
The MRTC was established in 1992 as a partnership between FMPOS, the National Health Institutes of the United States (NIAID / NIH),
with the support of other partners such as the University of Rome (La Sapienza) the Rockefeller Foundation and the World Health Organization (WHO).
The center has expanded by developing collaborations with several universities and research institutions around the world.

Message from the President of PDNA

President's Word: Pr. Abdoulaye DJIMDE

The Pathogen genomic Diversity Network Africa (PDNA) is an African-led research network investigating pathogens’ genetic and genomic diversity in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). The PDNA has been formed with support with support from MRC Centre for Genomics and Global Health (CGGH) and other local and international collaborators to address contemporary and future challenges facing the current initiative to control pathogens associated with different infectious diseases including those causing epidemics and pandemics. The network is currently spearheading the use of innovative genomics and related technology to support the ongoing malaria elimination efforts in SSA.
